But back to sharing the govt payments with them.... technically they can't require you to do that within a previously leased period. Morally, if you're paying a competitive cash lease above the 1/4 to 1/3 I mentioned above, then it seems fine to hang onto 100% of the govt additional hardship funding. But you're obviously playing with fire if you don't openly discuss this with your landlord. Of course this is my opinion only, but it's how I would expect to be treated as a landlord.
