Bottom of the Mitten | I dont think you have any business asking about the financials of his business outside of what he's paying you for rent. The seed guy doesnt need to know what he pays for chems or fertilizer. Put the rent price where it works for you and if its too high he'll walk, or it works for him then he'll stay. It shouldn't be a case of "I'll lower my price if you can prove you're beating everyone else up on price too"
Edit: I see lots of comments about the tennant possibly skimping on fertilizer. I would show any landlord a copy of soil tests from their farm any time they want.
