| The hardest part about writing prescription maps is determining how to weigh each of the variables. In our case, soil type has a large impact. But as others have said, CEC, elevation, and yield are all potentially important for determining the script. Putting high and low blocks in has been useful. If you decide you want to plant 32k in one area of a field, put a 5 acre section of 30k and 34k in the same area, if possible. This has really helped us determine planting rates. The same method has really been beneficial in saving N costs with nitrogen scripts. | |
