Tommy always talks about how hard they are on their trucks.
Is that true or not.
Truck sitting in doors ready to go. Serviced regularly and anything not up to snuff fixed..
Unless drag racing I don't get how they are abused.
I understand lots of idle time.

Drag racing is why. Here they literally say they redline them out the door, and red line them up to speed on all roads. They also "save money" by not having them plugged into any type of heater, block, transmission, etc.

Hurry Hurry Hurry is the name of the game around here. A couple trucks have been rolled as well.

That sounds like a leadership issue, if we did that here chief would have us running the clipboard real quick.......lol

It's called when the little RFD gets a bunch of people from the big cities of this country when the oil came in. A little town of 20 people is pretty slow compared to Miami, so the former full time people gotta make up for it somehow.

I mean it's great they're fully staffed, but at the same time the neighboring departments end up doing most of the work anymore with mutual aid due to strange equipment decisions with the local one, like trading 4 pickup units for a ladder truck and tanker leaving...half? A pickup unit for prairie fires, which is new but perpetually broken.
