Tommy always talks about how hard they are on their trucks.
Is that true or not.
Truck sitting in doors ready to go. Serviced regularly and anything not up to snuff fixed..
Unless drag racing I don't get how they are abused.
I understand lots of idle time.

Drag racing is why. Here they literally say they redline them out the door, and red line them up to speed on all roads. They also "save money" by not having them plugged into any type of heater, block, transmission, etc.

Hurry Hurry Hurry is the name of the game around here. A couple trucks have been rolled as well.

It all has to depend on the call , a grass fire . If nothing is in danger then go on and get there .

A life or someones house in danger ,

thats totally diffrent .

I like to think of myself as a professional , tearing up trucks and / or wrecking them and hurting myself ,I then became another problem my department needs to attend to .

Ill be honest it took me a good year to get this deal sorted out . Every call is not a flat on the mat call , in fact very few are .

I hung around a while , before i joined . so by this point im a few years in .

Not everyone has the same thought as i do . Not every call is an on the mat call .

Im not risking my life, or the lives of everyone on the road for a lift assist , or some hay bales .
