Subject: RE: Exponential growth and farming

Pittsburg, Kansas
My dad bought a quarter section next to one I owned at a Farm Credit auction during the 80's farm crisis. He let me farm it on shares a couple years later. He wrote a check and paid cash, which was the only way he ever bought land.

He bought right at the bottom. Prices were improving as I recall and he had the next two crops that grossed enough to pay for what he paid for the land. Gross, not net. But still, was a much better buy than the ground I had bought next to it at triple the price.
