Texas | Ill add in my 2 cents , 40 years , 24 of them at JB Hunt .
Day cabs live about at least a 50% harder life than a road truck .
The emission system gives more trouble , trans give way more trouble , doors / hinges , and about everything else that can wear out will last about half as long on a day cab
The5th wheel will wear out way faster .
A day cab is started a hundred more times , the brakes are used more , basically everything is used more . Stop and start , as opossed to driving down the highway .
Yet when i was running the sale / trade deal in dallas , people would fall all over themselves for a day cab .
This is just my opinion , its worth what yall paid for it . Id say a city day cab with 500k is about like a road truck with 800k .
The engines seemed to do okay , starters did not last as long . | |
