That's how I built both of mine.  16ft bays, 8' doors/windows.  I can only get 1/2 open but I'm up on a hill with fields for a mile to the North and West.  I'm sure wide open curtains would be better in the summer, but it's always nicer inside than out as is.  Only down side is having to climb a short ladder and open/close them manually as needed.  One shed is 17 years old and exactly $0 in repairs to the doors.  The other is 10yrs old with the same expense.
