| We are not intentionally hard on equipment.
Generally speaking, the equipment is driven short distances without any real warmup. On scene, the engine is at a pretty high idle to run the pumps.
Probably the hardest use is for wildland fires. They are in a filthy environment sucking dirty air and ash, driving through narrow areas brushing up against trees and shrubs, unseen low power lines, driven off road, used off road for pump and run off road , hitting unseen things in the field. We have had a couple damaged in near burn over situations, things melted, paint singed and discolored. WUI is hard on tires too. | |
