SW Ohio | You have a massive advantage not being tied into the generational farm/home farm. You choose your destiny. The bins are yours, the equipment, the control over the land. You alone control that destiny ans your obstacles are much clearer.
I own all I farm. 333 acres. I can produce and profit into the mid 3s on corn. cash financed. Dad and I bought land for the first time for either one of us, together. Though, on the home farm I pay to use, operate and practically live there as the main super trucker. The obstacles dor me to get the setup is the other heirs or taxes, who knows. not clear. Maybe I will luck out and dodge those issues. Or not and rebuy the setup Ive slaved at for 23 years. ( 200k bushels)
After I finish doing our acres, I really dont want more work. Though, having acreage like you have would be neat.
You get through the tough spell, you will be golden.
