Subject: Decisions and hindsight

Pittsburg, Kansas
I also built our grain facility not on the home place. I had been told I would inherit the home place, but a person never really knows what curve ball life might throw. So in our growth phase we put our grain bins on ground we had purchased 4 miles away.

I did build a shop on the home place where we lived rent free in the house I was born in.

I did, at about the age of 50 or 55 inherit the home place and all turned out well.

But as life develops, a person makes decisions that in hindsight could have been better. But now that my nephews rent those bins, I'm glad they are not right next door making all that noise and dust. So all is well that ends well.

I sometimes quip that had I never made a mistake I would be rubbing shoulders with Warren Buffet and Jeff Bezos instead of AgTalk. I don't know how many hundreds of thousands of mistakes I have made in my lifetime. I always figured if I wasn't making mistakes, I forgot to get out of bed that day.

Fear of making a mistake holds a lot of people back from their potential, in my opinion.
