SC WI | Scarcity push’s up land prices, as well as competition. Non farm buyers/investors are satisfied with a 2% or less return on investment prior to appreciation. A farmer is not going to realize the appreciation of the land unless it is sold.
Then there are farmers who cost average rent, or overpay to hopefully hit that once every decade home run.
In the grand scheme of things farming is one of the poorest ROI businesses out there, but yet plenty still do it. | |
