North Dakota
My Christmas list:
1. Less federal government
2. Less state government
3. Less corporate ownership(more competition) of the what is needed to produce a crop(seed, fertilizer, machinery, land, etc).
4. Less consolidation and control of markets by major corporations like ADM, Cargill, meat packers.
This equates to fewer taxes, fewer regulations, more choices, more freedom to adapt, a more level playing field, better opportunities for younger farmers to make a go of it. More farms on the countryside which equates to healthy competition, more innovation, more kids in local schools, more $$$ in local communities.
I do not believe any of this will happen. Not because it can’t. It will not occur because it is heavily discouraged by those in control and we don’t have the internal fortitude(balls) to make it happen.
