Nebraska aka the boondocks | This may be a little bit hyperbole, but I think generally it’s accurate. If I go in and price a new combine and heads today, what are my thoughts as compared to 30 years ago? If I go in and buy a farm with zero down today, what are my thoughts as compared to 30 years ago. Here are my thoughts, 30 years ago, yes and yes. Today are you crazy! So this means more guys have to use older and older and older equipment. I do feel like a whole class of farmers are being pushed slowly to the side. Maybe that is the natural order. On the other hand, if I wanted a new 8320 Deere, what is wrong with that. Regardless, I feel there is a heightened sense of anxiety. I would also note, when I look at my 2006 seed bill from pioneer when I had twice as many acres of corn, and it is way less than today with half as much, I wonder, how long can this go on. I have no desire to “outrun” the system, and have encouraged my daughters to have careers
