Tractor brands before consolidation in the 1970's were very regional, with really only Deere, Farmall-IH, and Allis Chalmers having a "nationwide" dealer network, but even then, they were more heavily regional to a degree.
Wherever something as made, or if the product fit a niche application better than another, you'd get higher concentrations of a certain color.
