| I use a 320 cat excavator to clean out tree lines and I have a 42 inch bucket. It works great for raking out stuff and clean up but is terrible digging out larger trees. The hole you leave is much bigger than needed. I see some GIYI and TOFT branded frost ripper shanks for sale on market place and was curious if any one had experience with them or something similar. They cost around $2,000 and "branded" shanks are over twice that much. Do they hold up for general farm use? Also are the $200 after market pins worth a darn or are the $900 cat pins worth the extra cost? I tend to want to buy quality stuff but for just ripping out trees for personal use I don't think the extra money would be worth it. Thank you for any input. The big trees I am taking out are pin oak and what we call swamp maple. The big ones are around 32 inch at the base and 80-100 ft tall.
