NW Iowa | Northwest Iowa has a good Massey dealer at Hull. Can get parts through Zieglar with locations in Sheldon and Sioux City because they sold Challenger's. Used to be quite a few dealers back in the 60's. At one time there were 6 that I can think of within 60 miles of me. My area had quite a few Massey 410's, 510's and 700 series combines. A fair number of the 11xx series tractors. I have always been Massey. Through the years I have owned a 165, 175, 275, an 1105, 1135, a pair of 1155's, and a 3690 tractor. Still have and use the 175, 275, and 1105 tractors. Also have a 645c Challenger so that kind of counts as a Massey. Started out with a 300 combine. Then had a pair of 510's, a 550 (big mistake), a pair of 850's, an 860, an 8570, and an 8780. Currently have a 660 Challenger so again kind of counts as a Massey. The only piece that was purchased new was the 1105. Everything else was used. I grew up around Massey's, knew how to work on them, and could always buy used ones cheaper than a used Deere or IH. | |
