The ones with the wheels in the center turn much shorter than the ones with wheels at the corners. You can also get just a little closer to things with the wheels in the middle because the edge of the wheels don't protrude past the edge of the forklift when you turn the wheel. I've run both and those are the only differences I've noticed.
