I'm guessing its a safety thing, our MF tractor you have to turn on the valve and the antenna as separate switches, and they will turn off if you exceed a certain road speed, our trimble's are wired with a power switch for the nav, our CNH combine has a separate button to active autosteer for the first time at start up
