So you are saying we would be better off with land at $3000? Lots of farmers are multi millionaires and that has a lot to do with their land holdings, wild to think some would consider that a bad thing.
It's insane to me that anyone would think high priced ground is a good thing. Sure, I'm a multi millionaire on paper, but what good does it do me? The land doesn't yield more because of the govt. payments. All it does is increase my property taxes.
Why do we want to burden ourselves with those kind of capital requirements? The subsidies have done more to keep young people out of farming than anything else in the last twenty years. |
