I agree that any bailout is not good, but some of us don't carry insurance and are penalized for it. Lots of land came into production when the government helped subsidize the insurance, without the subsidy some farmers wouldn't be able to farm the less desirable land!, Therefore it cuts production and increases profit on better land.
