Just north of I-90 in SW MN | I would sharpen your pencil and give a second chance for the pit. We put one in back in 2002. Grain prices were not all the great but we feel that we can at least get the harvest in without worrying about the weather. We also have some older help and they like the fact that we can back up and dump without moving the truck. Last year we even used a belly dump trailer to haul corn from the field. That would be hard to do with a jump auger. Pictures are enclosed. My only words of advice is make sure that you can get water away from your pit and have a way to replace the auger when that times comes around. We went this way to keep the boots above ground.
