Subject: sulfur in gypsum, how to make it last 2 years with positive and negative charges and what not?

20 miles west of Indianapolis Indiana

i am no soil scientist. without looking i don't know anything about positive and negative charged elements(ions) in soil. but ive heard enough to understand its a thing...

so my question/hope...

i want to look into using gypsum as my sulfur source for corn and soybeans. maybe apply it ahead of soybeans at a higher rate and have some left the following year for corn and then run say 5 gpa of ATS in the corn the following year to top it off.

what fertilitizer should or shouldn't i apply with the gypsum to help it hold in the soil for that longer timeframe and cheat to slow down leaching? is there anything that i'd already be interested in using i can apply with it or maybe something i'm using i should not apply with it in regards to charge of ions and staying in the soil?

the sulfur has a negative charge and the calcium a positive charge, but does that help my case to have the sulfur around for up to 30 months in an area with 40 inches of rain and a cec ranging from 8 to 12 on average?
