North Dakota | These ad hock payments bother me. I keep trying to remind myself we are operating under a 2018 farm bill in a 2026 inflationary economy. The dollar is worth less, cost of inputs, machinery, etc. have roughly doubled and the return on our investment with respect to crop prices have not kept up. In some respects have went backwards. Having said all that congress needs to address the farm bill and bring it up to date and quit being lazy or chuck it all in the trash can. Whatever the case these type of actions are not sustainable or long term beneficial. | |
