| Authoritarian governments are known to surround themselves with foreigners. It makes sense when a person thinks about it. Native populations do not want their government to turn authoritarian so to become authoritarian a government will tend to incentivize and surround themselves with outsiders who will appreciate being treated as “special” and act as a deterrent to a native population uprising against them.
As it stands now it appears that the former administration was guilty of attempting to become authoritarian and Trump is doing the opposite by attempting to cater to the native population. | |
