Because that strategy has worked so well to date. The Taliban is no longer in Afghanistan. Islamic extremists no longer in Iraq. Lebanon is secure and safe. Etc, Etc, Etc, Ad Nauseum.

ICE is tear gassing neighborhoods and doing door to door raids. This is clearly unconstitutional and EVERY State and EVERY mayor ought to be against it. Either the 4th amendment is a thing, or it isn't. Either States Rights are a thing, or they aren't.

Illegals typically don't get benefits, unless they've stolen an SSN. The whole Real ID program is/was supposed to prevent that. 

So, you're going to lock up employers for hiring someone who has committed a misdemeanor?

This just demonstrates they're targeting certain States and letting others off. This is typically what Authoritarians and Fascists do. Everyone should be concerned about the complete erosion of anything that looks like rule of law.
