The manure contains everything the pixie dust salesman is trying to tell you is in his magic saw dust.
Sorry, but that is 100% false. Although manure contains a lot of biology and is the best fertilizer you can get, it definitely is lacking in very very beneficial plant only biology. Prime example is mycorrhiza, which is one of the most important ones. Just Google it and then spend the next few hours reading about how they help deter weed growth, fight soil nematodes, increase brix in plants which in turns increases tolerance to disease and insects, break free tied up nutrients in the soil, and also helps get nutrients into the plants. Do those sound like any problems farmers are dealing with? I can tell you from my experience in soil DNA testing that over 90% of the fields I test are coming back very low. Don't believe me? Go to firstseedtests.com and go look at the independent field trials across the ENTIRE midwest and just click on any spot on the map. Click on the view results. Scroll down past the yield results and down below some line graphs and you will see the soil DNA sample results. Go to the biology results and you will see it for yourself. Pay attention to the mycorrhiza column and plant growth promoters. Those are the 2 main fungal tests. There are very few of them that are in the green on the results. Very few. There are lots of fungal products out there, but a lot fail because they are used incorrectly or they don't have what they are supposed to have in the mix. A lot of companies have their products made by an outside party and don't really have any quality control or spend the time to test the product to make sure it is what it is supposed to be. It is best to buy your biologicals from companies who grow their biology in house
