Thurston County, NE | Most likely Brazil expands approximately another 4% next year. If we don't come up with some new uses for beans, we will have a major carryover problem. We can't count on major crop problems next year down in South America . Or we have to find use of another 2 - 3 billion bushels of corn and reduce bean acres. 15% Ethanol would require more plants being built, or major expansions of plants already here. As of August 1st this year, Brazil has a mandatory blend rate of 30%. Just amazing how far we are behind them on this subject. | |
