S Illinois | The US already exports 1/3 of the meal created from crush. If we increase crush by 40% where are the animal units going to come from to consume that? Then we get into how will that affect DDG’s. Thats a lot of feed to get rid of. We don’t send whole beans out to turn around and import feed like he seems to imply. There is a tentative path if used cooking oil is considered as an imported byproduct. The other problem is soybean oil is an expensive oil/fuel feedstock. It’s nowhere near cost competitive as a fuel source without major tax incentives. | |
