The two issues with Metribuzin is soil pH and planting depth. Higher pH makes it more active but less persistence. It's a triazine and is absorbed by the roots and translocated to where photosynthesis occurs. If you plant soybeans deeper and spray Metribuzin on top you'll cut down on damage.
