SC IA | Nick Shirley proved how “easily” you can make a difference with independent journalism. Here’s an idea to put the ethanol rumors to bed. Get NCGA or whoever has the most invested in ethanol to fund a research project to run a comparison of 2 engines ran a long period of time on different blends and blast it on social media. Utilize different compression ratios in however method you want to compare fuel efficiency and tear engines down after run period to compare wear. There is a YouTube video of a guy doing this with a small engine. Don’t remember what the results were but I’m pretty sure he used pump blends which I wondered if that’s actually fair if it’s true ethanol blends use a lower grade of base fuel. To add a twist, use a third engine with a fuel blend of 87 octane regular and straight ethanol to create your own e15. Hell I’d do the engine work! :D | |
