Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Concerning #1. As I understand it, Headsight was an independent company that produced an add-on device for header height control and another product for steering. The were purchased by Precision which I believe is now owned by AgCo.
The steering product had evolved to Truesight II. When I purchased my kit during the Winter, it was a dealer hold over from the previous year. During that time, the ownership had changed from Headsight to Precision. My shipping box contained an advertisement to use the Truesight II on a self-propelled sprayer. The feelers were mounted on a retractable arm to sense the rows. I called the company and asked about it. The company rep was surprised that I had received the Ad with my combine kit. He said that when the new owners took over, they decided to drop the sprayer steering option. I should not have gotten the Ad but it was in the hold over box, I guess.
The Truesight II kit can work with steering wheel motors such as EZ-Steer, Ag Leader Steady Steer and others. It can also work with most integrated steering systems as well.
This worked out well for me since I already had the Steady Steer motor in my combine to work with Ag Leader's controller in soybeans. So, in my case, I have two steering controllers in the combine but use one for soybeans based on AB lines and the other in corn based on feelers.
