Subject: RE: Dehorning cow

Mid MO
I like to keep a horned cow on every farm. The farms here are small with patches here and there. There are a lot of people from pavement around here. The horns are a cheap and easy way to keep them and their dogs out of my herd.

All my bulls are polled. This old bat is home raised. Her momma was a salebarn cow who was a pet. She's gotten snarky with age and with the $ right now, I'm sick of fooling with her. She doesn't hassle me, but she'll fight the others over 1 kernel of corn. She's bred and will calve on time, always has.
