It really doesn't matter if the industry avg is 50%, 60%, 70%, etc. An average is made up of highs and lows.
The year that you hit the low % of AI breds is the year that you have to have enough bull power to avoid a disaster.
If you get 70% AI breds in year 1 Followed by 70% AI breds in year 2 70% in year 3 65% in year 4 75% in year 5 70% in year 6 75% in year 7 60% in year 8 65% in year 9
And in year 10 you only get 30% AI breds.
Assuming the same herd size every year, the average is still 65%. A year 10 scenario is what you need to have bull power for. Year 10 can and does happen.
