| If the basis doesn't improve then that means the USDA numbers are closer than anyone wants to admit.
Few years back the rain cut off in July with a very hot dry fall and all corn getting combined (DRY 13-14%) in September-beginning of October. That spring my area seen the lowest basis since 2012. The corn wasn't there, the futures didn't go up, so users had to close the basis to get the bushels they needed.
If you think the users are screwing you by having the basis to high, then buy some livestock and USE the corn up yourself. | |
