The first pickup I ever bought back in the day was an 81 Chevy 1/2 ton with a 305 engine. It had 3.08 gears and it was really a dog. I changed it to 3.42 and it made that pickup completely different. It even got a couple more MPGs by not lugging it so much.
Best used pickup for pulling a camper.
