He does however, has an amazing sense of what would be popular among the masses, Things like no income tax on tips, no income tax on Social Security, Trump however, does not have the ability to think things through to the end. He doesn't care about the consequences of a interest rate cap on credit cards ( massive retraction of consumer credit will be the result)
He just knows it will sound great on TV and he knows the Democrats will be fully against it so he wins the news cycle once again. I have no idea of how usury laws are passed (usury laws are the ones that limit how high interest rates can be) are they state by state or is it something that is passed and applied nationwide by Congress. My guess is that they are a state by state issue and as such there is not much any President can do about them. But remember it sounds great on TV and he will have the Democrats firmly in opposition. | |
