Subject: RE: Corn combine auto steer with whiskers?

South Central Illinois

I was having issues with ears dropping off of the end of the corn head.
The cart driver can see this much better than I can.
I slowed down the head and eliminated most of it.
That day we were getting a lot of fluff in the head,
This was due to the dry conditions that day.
I had speeded up the head in an attempt to eliminate some of the fluff.
I had considered moving the Trimble 1060 to the combine this winter.
Apparently it usually is not accurate enough for this.
So I was thinking of the whisker guidance.
Not really sure if it would be acceptable?
Not really sure if something better will be available in the near future?
