Subject: Heels vs babyfaces

Was listening to this Dwayne the rock Johnson interview a couple weeks ago on npr with terry gross. It was a rerun from around October I believe

In it he talks about how he originally was a “baby face” in his wrestling career and that he wasn’t really making any head way. A baby face is a like-able character in wrestling. Someone the crowd is supposed to cheer for.

And then one day Vince McMahon said that he wanted to turn the Rock into a heel. Someone the crowd roots against. Just absolutely hates. But he said he went out that night, turned his character into a heel and the rest is history.

He grew in popularity and became one of the highest grossing wrestlers and then actors of all time.

Other famous baby faces turned heels would include hulk hogan and stone cold Steve Austin (my favorite as a kid)

On the opposite side famous heels turned baby face would be someone like John cena (never liked him growing up)

Anyway I can’t help but draw parallels to the personalities on this website.

The babyfaces saying “I’ll just hold on, the price will go up, FSA is dumb and there can’t be that much corn out there, hang on guys it’ll turn around quickly”

And then Ya got the heels saying “FSA has nothing to do with it, global supply is more like a global glut, interest rates are still high and prices could probably go lower”

I suppose they could also be bulls vs bears but that doesn’t really encompass the persona side of it imo.

If you care to listen to the interview here it is, I found it interesting even the second time around
