Subject: RE: Bank Barn Question

SE Wisconsin
They sure do seem to find a way to fix those problems.

I have two old barns like this. One we use for calves as kind of a "creep feeding" area off the cow yard in winter. It also has 2 hospital pens in it for cows if needed. My other barn has my wife's chicken coops and 1 pen for loose housing of calves or steers. It is not perfect for any of these situations. but I like the history of these old barns. cows were milked in them for years.

I store hay in them upstairs for winter. helps keep them warm in winter. We also open up the hay drops to help with air movement. They work ok for us.

If I had an extra $250k I'd tear them down and rebuild... but I don't so we fix em as needed and keep using them when able.

Tim
