Not that you owe anybody on this site anything but if you had posted last Thursday or Friday that we should expect a 25 cent down move in corn on Monday you would have at the very least gotten everybody’s attention and earned a great deal of gratitude from those who positioned themselves accordingly.
Granted. At no point do I mean to rub it in anyones noses. To me that is ego stroking and I hate when people do that and I always try to avoid it at all costs. But gosh, what have I been warning about for months? I even stated that there would be no second chance in beans when it run out of energy at the high and I was very worried about price action in the grains spring. I even mentioned that I wouldn't be surprised to see the corn rally stop in early january. And these were said in ...IDK August maybe. Months ago. I already said over a month ago that my 25 crop was sold and I was gonna extend coverage in 26 crop and I laid out why and the extreme risks - which may have only begun. I only talk about things that far in advance for two reasons. 1 - to illustrate how far ahead price is telegraphing itself for people that just won't consider that there are bigger forces at play. And 2- In special cases where there lies extreme risk and I struggle with not saying anything because of the extreme detriment of others. People live in the world of now - thinking they live in a vacuum. The reality is much different.
As a trader - your biggest enemy is you- and your ego. I have nothing to gain by posting here. I have nothing to sell, no subs to loose, and I couldn't careless anymore if someone agrees with me or not. The first one through the door always gets bloodied - plain and simple. And in complete transperency, I thought it was possible to see a little bump to challenge the 4.60 level in corn before it rolled over. I was wrong. No... Wait...let me correct that. "THE USDA GOT IT WRONG" :-).
Take care
