Colby, Kansas
P1 is available phosphorus (assuming it's the proper extract for your soil pH). I'm assuming you are wanting to convert it to lb/ac? I'd be very cautious with that, I think that is a terribly misleading way to think about soil test P. The nature of P and how it is taken by the plant, how it behaves in soil, and how crops respond doesn't lend itself well to thinking about it as some quantity of lb/ac. It's the concentration of P in the soil (ppm) that is most tightly correlated to crop response.

I know there are some labs out there that report soil test P as lb/ac. I think they are doing a huge disservice to farmers and is borderline misinformation.

Can you calculate a number, yes. But does it mean what you think it means?
