SWMN | If you think yield monitors don't work, you either are not operating/calibrating them correctly, or you have faulty equipment. It is extremely easy to get a yield monitor dialed in to under 2% error. In consistent moisture and test weight grain, closer to .5% error or less should be normal. When I emptied a 15000 bushel bin last summer, there was only a 12 bushel difference between the elevator scale tickets and what the yield monitor showed should have been in the bin. That equals an accuracy of 99.92%
