| Sign up for their club, and have your wife do the same. They send a coupon by email for each of your birthdays for a free appetizer. We use those and go on weekday afternoons. Get there between 3 and 6 pm and you can order off of their early dine discount menu. The six ounce sirloin isn't going to set any size records but by the time you eat those delicious buns with the cinnamon butter, put most of a free blooming onion away, a 6 ounce and the big baked potatoes they have, you darned near have to crawl back to your car.
We recently did this and the bill came to around $32. I tipped generously for the good service we had and for what the full amount the bill would have been before taking the appetizer off and paid an even $50. I honestly can't think of too many places around here that you can get in and out of anymore for much less than that, even fast food, and not have as good of food.
Another tip... You get two sides with your meal. They like to upsell by asking if you want a loaded baked potato, mushrooms and/or onions on the steak. We both love those shrooms. Turns out, you can order those as one of the sides and they won't cost you anything extra. ;)
I tend to be a little sensitive to background noise. I can tolerate Roadhouse. I'd prefer it a little more quiet, but I get by. We were in a Buffalo Wild Wings once and that place was complete sensory overload. Had to shout at the waitress, I could not understand a word she said to me and the wife had to translate for me, and massive TV screens 360 degrees around all flashing different things. I had a headache for three days after spending 45 minutes in that hell hole. | |
