Sickle mower-no way, mower conditoner with a sickle a definite possiblity, I cut about 150 acres a year with a 1120 Hesston with stub guards and works fine, RANGE GUARDS YOU COULD NOT GIVE ME ONE. As stated above sickle takes less power then discbine. Center pivot would be nice at times, but backswaths are no big deal with stub guards, they just flat out cut and is a totally different animal then range guards.
