Subject: RE: winter chemical storage

East Central, Nebraska
i have very little space i keep above freezing so i am also in your spot. when i figure out my chemical program i go on agphd's app/website and see what temperature each chemical needs to be stored above. usually you will find there are very few that have to be kept from freezing. i take delivery of the stuff that weather has no effect on and the others i either make due with the little space i have or make the retailer/wholesaler hold them until we get to about march when it isn't as cold here. its not so much the freezing over night its the 10 days of straight freezing that causes the problems. even the ones that cant freeze don't need to be stored at a comfortable room temperature, if they stay slightly above 32F they are absolutely fine and dipping slightly under once and a while isn't a big issue. i guess my point is, don't overthink it. do some research of what your buying and the temperature it needs to be stored at. like i said the more expensive stuff that has lower use rates is typically what needs protected i think youll be surprised how much doesn't need special treatment.
