Smartphone of your flavor.   Doubt anything is simpler than a smartphone to use.  My mom’s well into her 70’s and does fine with a IPhone her older sister has a smartphone as well.  Your idea of buying minutes is a nightmare been there done that never again.  Whatever phone plan in your family has room just add them in.
