I just went thru this issue on an install I did Friday. Started to get nervous as to why it wasn't working. Then I found that setting and changed the Master to E2 in my scenario (E1 in his scenario)...worked great after that. I assume the F1 (master) needs to stay on? Looks like it is off in his picture. I had mine on.
I grabbed a picture from the manual and circled what I'm referring to...
You are correct in that the OP needs to change the setting in the upper right box from Switch to E1. You say you assume the F1 (old Master) needs to stay on? The position of the old Master has no effect on anything since nothing is associated with it after the change. The various locations are just inputs to the system. This chart shows which inputs affect what.
You notice that the OP appears to have F1 OFF, which is true but that should have no effect on the situation providing he has changed the upper right box in your picture to E1. The system can only have one Master. This box tells it which location to watch for the Master.
This is why I mentioned in a previous reply that he should try the old Master (F1), if the NH3 valve comes on then, it would prove that the system is still watching it rather than the new switch. Installing a new switch doesn't hurt anything but it doesn't have any effect unless this screen is changed.
This is also why I mentioned taking a picture of this screen so we can see how it is setup.
