| I helped build a cost share pond for a neighbor last fall and the plans called for a steel pipe inlet near the side of the pond(instead of the overflow pipe in center of dam). It was constructed of 6" steel pipe and after it went under the dam it converted to 6" non-perforated tile on out. I installed the steel pipe but the tile guy did the rest. To achieve this the installer slid a 8" non perforated tile several feet over the end of the 6" steel pipe and then converted the 8" down to 6" tile. This was because a 6" tile will not slide over a 6" steel pipe.
Long story short, I am going to build a couple smaller ponds on our farm this summer but I am not familiar with tile and connections, etc. So needing advice on fitting to use from the 8" to 6" tile and how to make sure it doesn't separate at the fitting. I drew up a sketch below that might make it more clear.
