Middlesex County, Ontario | Deere has a kit to put an integrated valve into an 8x00/8x10 tractor. I have one in an early 8300 with the 6076 engine. It replaces the factory orbital. It also adds a flow meter for sensing the steering angle, green star harness, globe mount, encoder in the steering column.
If all you want to do is autosteer then it is probably not the most economic option, but it exists.
I have not seen a company offering a wheel angle sensor for an 8000 series tractor that I was impressed with. Lots of brackets and linkages and weird geometries. I made my own wheel angle sensor with some basic parts, its a 0-5v analog output and it's almost completely linear 1:1 to the actual steering angle. I've got it setup on 2 tractors for a couple years and have helped a couple other people build setups of their own also. https://github.com/WildBuckwheat/Deere-8x00-WAS
The factory orbital has a diagnostic receptacle with load sense pressure. You can quick-couple an analog pressure gauge onto that port to detect manual steering wheel movement for disabling autosteer. You'll need a 90 degree elbow to make it fit. If you buy a kit for an 8x00 it should come with something to do all that. |
